EQUIPMENT and TECHNOLOGY
Our treatment equipment and technology, which is state-of-the-art
includes:

Varian’s 2100 EX Linear Accelerator with: 120 multi-leaf collimator;

EXACT Couch and Positioning System; EPID Portal Imaging System.

ADAC’s 3D conformal and IMRT Treatment Planning System.

New filmless radiography technology, via a direct fiber optic connection.

Faith Hope and Love Cancer Center has immediate and complete access to all
MRI, CAT scan, PET scan and Radiographic Images of our patients that are
within Unity Healthcare Partner, InnerVision’s computer database. This
allows immediate access to the highest quality images to do our treatment
planning.

Precise positioning directly transferable from diagnostic scans to our
ADAC treatment planning system assures the highest degree of treatment
location accuracy.

Detailed 3 Dimensional Treatment Planning is used for every patient.

IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) – This is the name given to
the technology which controls the precision movement of the 120 leaves in
the Linear Accelerator’s Collimation System. This allows for continuous
adjustment and “shaping” of the radiation beam during each treatment. This
“Modulating” of the intensity of the radiation beam controls the dosage to
each of various sites in the treatment area. This allows for a degree of
control which could hardly be imaged even a few years ago.
All of these technological elements have been brought together by us to
optimize the possibility of tumor control while at the same time,
